Overview

Make Ten ("we", "our", or "the app") is a daily math puzzle game available on iOS and Android, developed and operated by Red Pocket Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (the "data controller"). We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle your data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Analytics Data

We use PostHog to collect pseudonymous usage analytics to help us improve the app. This includes:

  • Puzzle completion events (daily, practice, and archive puzzles)
  • Feature usage (hints used, levels reached, XP earned)
  • Screen views and app navigation
  • Device platform (iOS or Android)
  • App version

Analytics are tied to a randomly generated pseudonymous identifier — a random ID that is not linked to your name, email, or any other directly identifying information. This identifier persists across sessions but cannot be used to identify you as an individual.

Purchase Information

If you purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not receive or store your payment details, credit card numbers, or billing address. We only receive confirmation of whether you have an active subscription.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, daily puzzle reminders are scheduled locally on your device. These reminders are generated on your device — we do not collect or transmit a push token, and no notification data is sent to our servers. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

Feedback

If you choose to submit feedback through the app, we collect the feedback type, the message you write, and your app version so we can review and respond to it. Please avoid including personal information in your message, as the content is entirely up to you.

Website Support Requests

If you contact us through the support form on our website, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can respond to you. This information is sent to us by email via Resend and is used only to handle your request. You are not required to use the form to use the app.

Locally Stored Data

Your game progress, settings, streak data, and puzzle history are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers.

Your pseudonymous identifier is stored securely in your device's keychain (iOS) or keystore (Android). Because it is stored this way, it may be included in your device's encrypted backups (such as iCloud or Google backups) and can persist across app reinstalls or transfer to a new device when you restore from a backup. These backups are controlled by you through your Apple or Google account; we do not have access to them.

Information We Do Not Collect

Within the app itself, we do not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or contact information (unless you voluntarily contact us — see "Website Support Requests" above)
  • Location data
  • Photos, files, or device contents
  • Contacts or address book data
  • Browsing history outside the app

We do not require you to create an account to use Make Ten.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • PostHog — pseudonymous product analytics. Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat — subscription management. Privacy Policy
  • Expo / Expo Application Services — app build and delivery infrastructure. Notification reminders are scheduled locally on your device and are not routed through Expo's push service. Privacy Policy
  • Vercel — website hosting and analytics. Privacy Policy
  • Cloudflare — edge infrastructure that processes in-app feedback submissions and purchase requests. Privacy Policy
  • Convex — backend infrastructure that stores in-app feedback submissions. Privacy Policy
  • Resend — email delivery for support requests submitted through our website. Privacy Policy

International Data Transfers

Our third-party service providers (including PostHog, RevenueCat, Vercel, Cloudflare, Convex, and Resend) are based in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with data transfer restrictions, your pseudonymous analytics data, any feedback you submit, and any support request you send may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission to govern these transfers.

Your Rights (EEA and UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your data under the GDPR and UK GDPR:

  • Access — you may request confirmation of whether we process data about you and receive a copy.
  • Erasure — you may request deletion of any data we hold about you.
  • Objection — you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Portability — you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Because we collect only pseudonymous analytics data (not linked to your identity), we may be unable to locate or action requests without additional identifying information you choose to provide. To exercise any of these rights, contact us as described in the "Contact" section below.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of personal information. Make Ten does not sell personal information. The only data we collect is pseudonymous analytics data as described above. To make a request, contact us as described in the "Contact" section below.

Advertising

Make Ten does not display ads. We do not share your data with advertisers.

Children's Privacy

Make Ten does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or the submission of any personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us through our support form so we can take appropriate action.

Data Retention & Deletion

Pseudonymous analytics data is retained by PostHog, and any feedback you submit is retained by us (via Convex), in accordance with applicable data retention policies. Because our analytics data is pseudonymous and not linked to your identity, we may be unable to locate it without additional identifying information you choose to provide. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored game data; however, your pseudonymous identifier is held in your device's keychain and may remain in your device backups even after uninstalling. You can request deletion of analytics data, feedback, or other data we hold as described in the "Your Rights" and "Contact" sections of this policy.

Contact

For privacy-related questions or to exercise your data rights, contact Red Pocket Limited through our support form and select the "Account / data" topic. We will respond to your request by email.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
